Thanks to Mila for being my ride along today. She was on my mind as I rode up the heights of Ithaca along the Cornell campus today. The rain wasn’t as bad at that time and the scenery was beautiful!
I have to catch up and also thank Jenna for the ride along to Corning. It’s also her birthday tomorrow!! It was so special to see you in Corning too! I am getting a bit complacent as the days march on and I get in auto pilot on early mornings that I fail to look at my ride along buddies. I am so grateful for the love and support from friends and family, I love my village! Oh, I also got another visit from Colette and Matt as they make their way back from their vaca in Maine. We had a lovely dinner at the Hotel Brewster. We had lobster, filet, lamb shank, oysters. Crème brule! Yum.
Today was ‘one for the books’. rain, cold. Long. The forecast tomorrow looks warmer and dry! Yay!!!! I hope to enjoy the scenery as we make our way to the Adirondack area. I’ve been reflecting on pace, business, rushing. Granted there’s nothing like 100 miles of rain to center you in the Now and Present. It’s a lesson in delayed gratification. I’ll get dry, eventually…. But otherwise this is The best time of year, fall colors, crisp air, apple cider, PUMPKIN SPICE!! Rushing through you’ll miss it on your way to the finish, the next thing, day, ride. Take a moment, have that apple cider donut and press pause.
