Thank you to Kari for being my ride along Monday. She had me thinking of Harry Styles and humming ‘Watermelon Sugar’ all day!
What can I say about Condon? A lone town in the middle of vast, never-ending fields of wheat. That’s probably why this town produced THREE Nobel laureates. They had to use their imagination and creativity in that environment.
The ‘A’ team is picking up members. We were joined at the end by Jeffrey from Seattle.. We exchanged our ‘Whys’ and his really impressed me. As he approached retirement his weight which was in the 300’s was making his daily activities difficult and he would need a walker. So he took that on with a structured program, lost 80# and was then able to start riding. He had been too heavy for a bike. So now after this trip cross country he feels anything is available to him in retirement.
I mean, wow. he also did many trips as a youth in the ‘70s with American youth hostels. Long, 90 day trips and he spoke fondly of those memories of the land and its people. I love that! There was a 1976 event, bike centennial, where over 4,000 riders rode cross country. He missed it because he was starting college. So this is his do-over!
Amazing. Bring it on Jeffrey. That stuff keeps Me peddling.
That’s one state down !!! Keep it up
