Day 8

Kamiah – pronounced like in a Jersey “Kaam-eyah”

Thank you to Carol, AGAIN, for riding with me today. She chose a Red Hot Chili Peppers for my morning get up and go soundtrack. Much needed as it was an early start with a lot of climbing today. That nice little slope, kinda looks like a sledding hill on the profile, awww. More like oops. It was 15 miles of legit, 6% grade. I passed a sign for putting on chains. I made it! Poor Dan lost his e shifting and was on a single speed until lunch. Bummr

Today I felt I’m getting stronger and also more tired. And I’m also caring less about who might be in line of sight when I’m squatting van-side at the side of a road. Today I stepped behind this stone sign of Idaho onto two lower legs of a former deer. No idea how that happened- but I was on mission and uninhibited! And then I was off!

It was refreshing to not be in wheat field all day, someone said at dinner- I’ve got two of those t-shirts and don’t need another. Exactly. We had rolling terrain and pine forests. Also some controlled burns made it a little Smokey.

Tomorrow we ride up to Lolo, big day.

We will not have WiFi! I’m kinda excited to be unplugged!

See you in Missoula!
