Ooooo-Acoma where the wind from the south never rests….

Hey y’all from Central Time!!! Wooohoo! We are entering the Midwest!

Thanks to Colette for guiding me out of Kadoka, I was happy to head west even if it was a looong day of 113 miles. Team A left about 0700 and it was me, Jeffrey and Andrew for the day. The morning was peaceful on a frontage road. We saw a few deer and I spotted a red fox too. The terrain was pretty rolling and this mellowed as we headed east. The wind NEVER SHIFTED! Again we were dealing with a stiff wind from the south although it wasn’t nearly as fierce as yesterday.

As the day progressed we needed entertainment and started dining camp songs, like the one about the bear the other day, American Pie, Hotel California. It took about one song a mile. Maybe by the end of the trip we’ll have all the lyrics down to American pie. We’ll see.

Man, was I happy to ride into Oacoma. It lies on the Missouri River and I think we’ll get a better look around tomorrow. We lost an hour when we crossed into Central time. So for me it is time for bed. We have a later start and only 70ish miles to Mitchell tomorrow.

Bon Nuit
