Lissa thank you for the ride along. She did a hike of 7.3 miles and 1200 feet elevation to share the mileage with me. Also she sent some really nice pictures of Lake Superior. I miss water out here in South Dakota.
I can say that we seem to be approaching the Midwest. The drivers are more courteous, I see farms and crops and cows, I saw a dad and baby with matching Packer Jerseys for game day. Once the wind STOPS hitting us from the south I’ll know I have arrived.
This morning was a bit rushed for me despite the late departure at 0745. I didn’t eat enough and hustled to get all packed up and downstairs ready to go. I have this Theragun for recovery, it’s kinda like a mini massage, like a thumper for sore and tight muscles. A lot of us are packing these thingies. Very discreetly this morning as I’m pumping up my tires Bev, a guide, comes over and says kinda quiet and to the side, “ Anita, I think your Theragun is going off in your luggage. You might want to check that out.” Indeed it was vibrating away, and not quietly, in my backpack. I said, “Well at least it isn’t another kind of vibrating device in there, Ha!” Thanks Bev for being discrete! You never know….
We arrived in Sioux Falls before 3pm! Wow! That was a first so I was able to shower and recover a bit before I ran out for dinner. I’m currently waiting for my to-go order so I can go back to my room and watch the Emmys with ice packs on my body. Saddle sores are becoming a thing so I’m hoping to chase those away with various potions and lotions. We got a BIG day tomorrow with state #7 Minnesota! That happens early on in the 126 miles we got goin on to Fairmont.
May the Ibuprofen last the entire 6 hours tomorrow!
