What is this, day 4?

Thank you Lissa for being my ride along today. Your fun facts and inspiration made this REALLY TOUGH DAY more bearable! Here’s a fun fact from Lissa :

You have made it to the Dalles!!! WOW! The site of what is now the city of The Dalles was a major Native American trading center. The general area is one of the continent’s most significant archaeological regions. Lewis and Clark camped near Mill Creek on October 25–27, 1805, and recorded the Indian name for the creek as Quenett.

Today started out chilly with an early climb out of Hood River to a bike trail. It smelled of smoke and there were charred trees all over from a fire in July started by dry lightning. Again, just gorgeous country. I saw Mount Adams peeking up and covered in Snow in Washington.

We made our way East then cut south towards Condon. I can’t say much more cause the next like 6 hours were spent climbing, wiping stinging sunscreen out of my eyes and stopping at every mile marker on a tough climb to let blood flow back into my squished lady parts.

I finished, ate dinner, my buddy Dan dressed my boo-boo then bedtime.

Farewell Condon!!
